How to Install a Wascomat Soap Tray Kit (Gen 6/7)

Installing a soap tray kit on Wascomat and Electrolux commercial washers is straightforward — but there's one critical step most people skip: verifying your generation before ordering. Here's the full process.

Step 0: Verify Your Generation

Before you order, check whether you have Gen 6 or Gen 7 machines. The soap dispenser part number for Gen 6 is #432240101. For Gen 7, it's #472995401. Find the model plate inside the door frame and confirm your model number. Gen 6 and Gen 7 kits are NOT interchangeable — the tray dimensions are different.

Step 1: Remove the Soap Tray

Pull the dispenser drawer out from the front of the machine. Wascomat trays typically slide straight out — push the release tab if there is one. Set the tray on a flat, clean surface.

Step 2: Deep Clean the Tray

Wascomat trays tend to accumulate more buildup than some other brands because of the dispensing channel design. Soak the tray in warm water for 10-15 minutes, then scrub all channels and compartments with a stiff brush. Remove all residue. This is important — the liner needs a clean surface to sit flat.

Step 3: Install the Color-Coded Liner

Place the custom-molded liner into the tray. The Wascomat liner is designed to match the exact compartment layout of your generation. It sits in place without adhesive. Each compartment is a different color, matching the bilingual label system.

Step 4: Apply Bilingual Labels

Stick the labels on the tray front or machine panel above the tray. Position them where customers will see them before they pour. The labels include icons and text in English and Spanish (or English and French, depending on your kit variant).

Step 5: Reinstall and Test

Slide the tray back into the machine. Open and close it a few times to make sure the liner doesn't shift. Run a short cycle to verify water flows through the tray properly.

Fleet Installation Tip

If you have mixed Gen 6 and Gen 7 machines, label each machine with its generation before you start. This prevents mix-ups during a bulk installation. Color-code your inventory: keep Gen 6 and Gen 7 liners in separate marked bins.
