Electrolux Professional Laundromat Equipment: Line 5000, Line 6000 and Compass Pro Explained

Electrolux Professional washers reach US laundromats through one distributor and in two generations: Line 5000 (W575H through W5300H) and Line 6000 (EUD-615 through EUD-680). Both are softmount, both spin to 450 G, and both share the four-compartment soap box with Wascomat. What changed between them is the control, the dispenser, and the utility numbers. Here is the whole lineup at a buying level, with the spec tables dealers keep in PDFs.

Who Makes What

Electrolux Professional AB is a separate company from the Electrolux that makes home appliances. It was spun off in March 2020. In North America the exclusive distributor for both Electrolux Professional and Wascomat is Laundrylux, based in Inwood, NY. Laundrylux used to trade as Bermil Industries and adopted the Laundrylux name in April 2010, but the machines kept their badges. A washer leaves the factory as either an Electrolux or a Wascomat depending on the model.

That matters for parts and accessories. The Wascomat side of the catalog, covered in the Wascomat operator's guide to Gen 6, Gen 7, WLD, WED and WUD, uses the same soap box, the same Compass Pro control, and the same door-opening family as the Electrolux H-series. If you already run a Wascomat row, an Electrolux row is not a new ecosystem. It's the same distributor, the same parts counter, and most of the same consumables.

Line 5000 vs Line 6000

Line 5000 is the H-series: W575H, W5105H, W5130H, W5180H, W5240H and W5300H, from 18 lb to 75 lb, all on Compass Pro. Laundrylux's spec sheet lists Automatic Savings load weighing that saves up to 50% water, Energy Star ratings up to the 45 lb size, and Heavy Soil and Extra Rinse option buttons. Every size but the 75 lb spins to 450 G; the W5300H tops out at 400 G.

Line 6000 is the EUD series. Laundrylux's launch post lists a 7" HD color touchscreen with 35 languages, a pivoting front-mounted soap dispenser, and 450 G extraction sustained through the entire spin. The same post claims water bills cut by 50% and energy by 40% compared with 100 G washers, up to 38% more customer throughput at peak, and a complete wash-and-dry under 45 minutes. Those are distributor claims, not independent tests, so treat them as ceilings. Washer Capacities and Door Openings

Capacity and door diameter are the two numbers that drive everything else: which customer the machine serves, which price tier it sits in, and which accessories fit. Line 5000 uses the same four door sizes Wascomat has used for years. Laundrylux's H-series coin sheet #096236 prints them as follows.

Line 6000 rates capacity two ways. The official US user manual (438917931/US) gives a recommended maximum load for each EUD model and, separately, a higher maximum dry mass in the safety section. Sell and program to the recommended figure. The manual covers seven sizes.

The user manual does not print EUD door diameters; those live on Laundrylux's Line 6000 spec sheet. Get that sheet for the exact models on your quote before you order anything sized to the door. Dryers: T5290, T5550, T5675 and the Stacks

Electrolux dryers for coin stores are the Line 5000 T5 family. Reversing drums are standard, Compass Pro is the control, and gas models run on 120 V single phase. The door sizes split into two groups, and the split matters more than the capacity difference. Laundrylux sheet #096245 gives these figures.

The T5550 and T5675 share a 31 7/8" door, the largest of any dryer in this catalog and wider than most stack pockets by four to nine inches. The Line 6000 TD6-20 dryer, by contrast, has a 580 mm (22.8") door per its installation manual, the same as the T5290. Compass Pro and Clarus Vibe

Compass Pro is the single-knob control on Line 5000 washers, the T5 dryers, and Wascomat's WLD and WUD rows. In coin mode the US manual lists five programs, COLD, WARM, HOT, QUICK WASH and DELICATE, plus HEAVY SOIL and EXTRA RINSE as options. A long press on the knob opens the service side: SERVICE MENU, FUNCTION TEST, CONFIGURATION, PRICE PROGRAMMING, STATISTICS, PROGRAM PARAMETERS and SYSTEM. Language counts vary by software vintage. Laundrylux's Compass Pro overview says three languages with a dual-language display; the H-series spec sheet says more than 20. Don't assume either number until you read the version on the machine.

Clarus Vibe is the 7" color touchscreen on Line 6000 and, since September 2024, on Wascomat's WED 200 G machines. Laundrylux's press release for the WED lists 10 built-in cycles, more than 180 custom programs and 35 languages. Error Codes an Attendant Can Clear

The Line 6000 user manual publishes only four error codes at the user level. Everything else is a service code. That is useful: if the display shows one of these four, your attendant can act without calling anyone.

For any other code, or a repeated code, the manual's instruction is to disconnect power for 30 seconds. If the code comes back, contact authorized service personnel. Service-level numbered codes (01 NO WATER through the 31 to 41 motor and inverter subcodes) are documented by parts dealers, not in the user manual, and they point at work a technician does. The Four-Compartment Soap Box

Every Electrolux and Wascomat washer in this guide has a four-compartment supply dispenser. The EUD manual labels the compartments by function in figure X00963: Softener, liquid; Main wash, liquid chemicals; Pre-wash, powder or liquid detergent; and Main wash, powder detergent. Customers get this wrong constantly, and the failure mode is bleach in the softener cup or softener in the main-wash compartment. Maintenance in the manual is simple: pull out the two siphons, clean them, and flush both compartments.

Because the box is shared, one accessory covers both badges. The Wascomat and Electrolux soap tray kit ships with front and back liner variants for the pull-out box. Replacement boxes are also shared: Parts Town lists Wascomat part 472995401 as "SOAP-BOX, GEN 6/GEN7 COMPLETE". Cleaning Panels and Decals

Section 7.9 of the EUD manual is the only manufacturer-published cleaning list for vinyl decals on a commercial washer, and it is stricter than most attendants' habits. The safest cleaner is mild dish soap in warm water at pH 7 to 8. Acceptable alternatives are pH-neutral floor cleaner, mild car soap and baby shampoo. For stubborn marks the manual allows isopropyl alcohol at 50% or less, applied briefly and rinsed, or white vinegar diluted 1:10, tested first.

The prohibited list is long: acetone and solvents, chlorine bleach, abrasives such as Comet and Ajax, steel wool and Magic Eraser pads, muriatic or phosphoric acid, caustic soda, isopropyl alcohol above 70%, ammonia and Windex, undiluted Simple Green or Purple Power, and WD-40 or Goo Gone. Note that alcohol prep pads are a surface-prep step before a decal goes on, not a routine cleaner for decals already applied. Electrolux vs Continental Girbau

If you are shopping softmount, the other specialist is Continental, which now trades as Continental Laundry Solutions. Its GS-Series runs 20 lb to 130 lb at up to 450 G, and its E-Series ExpressWash EH models cover 20 lb to 90 lb in vended stores. Continental's architect sheets print door openings of 12.7" on the EH020, 12.9" on the EH030, 16.8" on the EH040 and EH060, and 22" on the EH090. The 450 G number matches Electrolux size for size, so the decision comes down to control, dealer territory, and door geometry rather than spin.

Softmount is the reason either brand is on your list. A hardmount washer has no suspension, transfers spin force into a thick slab, and must be bolted or grouted to a ground floor or basement. A softmount carries internal shock absorbers, installs on any floor level, and goes in over hours rather than days. Laundrylux claims its 450 G washers remove 15.36 lb more water per load than a 100 G hardmount and 5.48 lb more than a 200 G. That is a distributor's number, but the direction is not disputed. Neither brand publishes list prices; Laundrylux's only public payment figure is a Wascomat bundle at $376.80 per month for two WLD745 washers, excluding tax, freight and install. Which Line Should You Buy?

Buy Line 6000 if you are building or retooling a row from scratch. The touchscreen, the 35-language interface and the front-mounted dispenser are what customers see, and the utility claims, even discounted, favor the newer machine. Buy Line 5000 H-series only when your dealer still has stock and you want a single Compass Pro knob across a row that already has WLD or H-series machines, so one attendant training covers everything. If you have a wood floor, an upper floor, or a slab you can't bolt a hardmount into, softmount is not optional, and the choice is between these two lines and Continental.

Whichever line you pick, pull the Laundrylux spec sheet for the exact model numbers on the quote, check the door diameter and recommended max load against the tables above, and get the control generation written on the order before you sign.
