How to Install a Dexter Soap Tray Organizer Kit
The Dexter soap tray organizer kit installs in minutes per machine with no tools required. Here's the full walkthrough.
What's Included
The Dexter kit includes custom-molded color-coded liners sized specifically for Dexter front-load commercial washers, plus bilingual labels (English/Spanish) for detergent, fabric softener, and bleach compartments.
Step 1: Remove the Soap Tray
Pull the Dexter soap dispenser drawer out completely. On most Dexter models, there's a release tab you press while pulling. Set the tray on a clean surface.
Step 2: Clean Out Residue
Use warm water and a stiff brush to remove any caked-on detergent or softener residue. Pay special attention to the channels between compartments — buildup here causes dispensing failures. Dry the tray completely.
Step 3: Insert the Color-Coded Liner
Drop the liner into the tray. It's molded to the exact dimensions of the Dexter tray, so it sits in place without adhesive. Each compartment is a different color, creating an instant visual guide for customers.
Step 4: Apply the Labels
Stick the bilingual labels on the tray front or the machine panel directly above the tray opening. Each label has an icon plus text in English and Spanish. Position them at eye level — customers should see them before they start pouring.
Step 5: Reinstall the Tray
Slide the tray back into the machine and test the pull-and-push action. Make sure it moves smoothly with the liner in place.
Fleet Rollout Strategy
For large installations, batch the work. Pull all trays first, clean them in a group (a utility sink works well), then install liners and labels assembly-line style. Two people can outfit 30+ machines in under 3 hours. Label a few machines first and watch customer reactions — you'll see the confusion drop immediately.
